Thanks for the free software.
That being said, I've noticed that there appear to be a lot of songs which the program reports as having a BPM of 000.00. Further investigation seems to indicate that the program hasn't returned a single song with a BPM count under 60, though I suspect that plenty of the songs do potentially identifiable beats. Also, it seems that many songs with slow beat counts have very high beat counts (example: "Long Ago and Far Away" by the Carpenters is quite slow, but ProScan returned a BPM of 169.91, at least a couple of times higher than what it really is).
I also noticed another user suggested regarding allowing for recursive subfolder scanning, and I'd second that. And, if I dare, I'd also politely suggest auto-saving (as files are being scanned) and the ability to re-size the program window.
Thanks!

Hi Pat
You are correct, in that the lower limit we set for BPM is < 70, anything below that will show zeros, and the upper limit is > 200.
The ones that show an abnormal value, usually end up being a multiple of the value shown (whether on the plus or minus side). You can manually change that for now by right-clicking on the BPM field for that item.
We'll be doing some tweaks over the coming months to more fine tune the algorithm, as well as add some additional features as requested _________________ Rick C

I would like to know if the capabilities have been added or is there an update I can download to scan sub-folders with BPM Proscan.
And the auto save feature.
Thank you. |

All new releases of our software, Rockit, RockBox and the new Multi Zone Audio, have the BPM scanner built right into the library manager now.
Whatever updates will be reflected there first, and then when all the new releases have made it out the door, we'll do a new build of BPM ProScan.
Multi Zone Audio is in Beta testing right now, and as soon as we get enough feedback, fix any bugs, etc., it will be the first out the door, then the upgrades for Rockit and RockBox will follow as quickly as they are completed. _________________ Rick C

Do you have an idea of the time frame of the new build for BPM Proscan?
Thanks,
Marc |
