Edwin,
I watched the movie about the AutoMix.
You are pressing the CUE button when in an automated mode, which is not what the automated mode is designed to do.
You can in fact, mix back and forth manually while AutoMix is running, but it is not a suggested practice, as the AutoMix is designed to do just that, not take manual input. Had you had a track loaded into the opposing deck, and pressed Mix to B, it would have, but for some reason, you decided to CUE A first ???
To explain a little further: AutoMix runs off of a timer, when the timer is checked, a given set of criteria must exist for the defined procedure to take place. If that criteria is not met, the defined procedure is overridden by the manual input you did - in this case, cueing a track that is already playing. The timer then says, ok, he doesn't want this track anymore, let me load another and play it, since he's still in AutoMix mode. That criteria also says, if a track is not playing (stopped, cued, paused), and I am in AutoMix, I will choose A as the first deck to play (since it comes before B in the alphabet).
Even though the CUE button functions during AutoMix, one must realize it is not meant to be used in the same fashion you would use it in manual mode. As you can see, your mileage may vary
I had a guy call me a couple of months ago, and he saved a spreadsheet file as xxx.MP3, and loaded it into RockIt, and tried playing it. It broke!
See what I mean, if you try to break something, you can, but if you use it in the fashion in which it was designed, then it won't.
I sincerely appreciate the input, but the fact is, AutoMix is meant for just that purpose, when you are working the crowd, going to the toilet, etc. It's not meant to be used in place of manual mixing.
So no, it is not a bug _________________ Rick C

I understand the things you say, but the user of a program may expect a way of working that is simular from deck A to deck B.(mirror behaviour)
In this case there is a big difference in behaviour, even if you told that that is the way the program works.
the expection is to do the same things on deck A as wel on deck B.
i told you of the qeu botton, but the same thing happens when i press the stop button on deck A.
If i use the decks in manual mode, i can activate "automix" on the fly, and it does the things i expect, automix to the first available deck.
nothing wrong with that, excellent.
Are you telling me Rick, that you can't program it, so that the behaviour is the same on both decks ???
It can not be that hard? is it?
if i buy a car with a steering wheel and i turn right it wil go to the right, but when i turn it left, and it wil go straight on, i have a problem.
i went to the creator and told him the problem.
he told me its not a bug, but a way the car works and is build.
got my point
(try to see it from the DJ's point of view, not as a programmer)
sorry for my bad englisch.
regards Edwin. |
